What's been in my CD tray recently,
or being played lots on my iPod

'Opposite Way' - Leeland

A fresh new sound on the CCM scene with a very modern style.  This is not your typical album full of Christianese cliches and glib statements.  Rather, it is full of catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics and some excellent music that keeps me listening to this album over and over again.  A great follow-up to thier excellent first CD - 'Sound of Melodies'.

'Sound of Melodies' - Leeland

This is the debut album from a band who are destined for greatness in the CCM industry.  Frontman Leeland Mooring (vox & guitar), along with his brother Jack Mooring (keyboards/vox), cousin Jake Holtz (bass), and friends Jeremiah Wood (lead guitar) and Mike Smith (drums) serve up a disc full of searching, worshipful, challenging and celebratory songs.   Influenced by some of thier favourite British bands like U2, Delirious, Coldplay and Elbow; Leeland has a very fresh and modern sound.

'Revival In Belfast' - Robin Mark/Hosanna! Music

If you haven't heard this album then you've been missing out on some of the most inspirational music available today.  As a friend of mine said, "It's very healing".  There is no doubt left as to who is pre-eminent on this disc - Jesus!  It is no wonder this is still a bestselling album all around the world, over 15 years after it's release.

'Gretchen Goes to Nebraska' - King's X

The second album by Texas Rock/Metal band King's X. This is the album that established the band as a genuine band to be reckoned with, getting rave reviews all over the world. Unfortunately, the unique style of this 'Musicians band' has not resulted in sales that were expected, despite being lauded by some of the music industry's heavyweights. A great band; an awesome album.
